Upgrading radios also allows all the newest features like Bluetooth Wireless connection, built-in apps like iheartRadio, Pandora, and Spotify controls. Also allows for remote transom controls to allow control where ever you are around the boat.
More speakers, requires more power!
Amplifier's is what pushes your audio signal from your radio to your speakers. Larger speakers require more power.
The amount of power needed is different for every audio setup. We will maximize your speakers, power, and budget to give you ample power for whatever speakers you decide to use. Many boats come equipped with factory amplifiers. Unfortunately, most of these amps are "locked" from factory and offer no adjustment allowance. In this case, we always recommend swapping those out for an amplifier that allows full adjustment for the best sound quality.
If you are going for the "complete" sound sepctrum, a subwoofer or two is a must. Subwoofers come in a couple different variations, and both offer different advantages and sound. For the best sound, a ported enclosure in an open area gives maximum bang for your buck. We know that is not always possible, and every boat has its limitations. For the boats that lack space for optimal sub enclosure locations, we opt for the infinite-baffle free-air model subs. Many brands offer IB style subs, but we always recommend the best IB sub on the market from JL Audio.
